We bought this for our cat with some skepticism. We've tried quite a few other products in the past that claimed to reduce shedding but they never worked as advertised. However, this product actually works. The hair gets caught in the teeth of the FURminator and it comes off in big clumps of fur. However, you might want to use this over tile, wood floors, outside or somewhere where you can vacuum afterwards because the hair reallly will come off quite fast. You might also want to have a bag or something at the ready to put the cat hair in because you'll be taking off so much hair (This is especially helpful the first time you use this on their fur. You'll wonder how so much fur fit onto such a small cat!). It works best if you can use this on your cat often and, with time, if really does help to lessen their shedding. Our cat has medium-length hair and it only takes us about 5-10 minutes to use the FURminator on her.
